History of DIET, Malkangiri

The DIET malkangiri, Chitrakonda Came into existence in the month of Nov and in the following academic year of 2014 in regular training Course for teacher has started. DIET, Malkangiri, Chitrakonda initially fell under Undivided Koraput District since its operation has fallen under markangiri District.Before Declared as DIET It was running as ST School since 1979 ,then upgraded to DRC in 2011. It is situated at Northen end, Part of odisha bordering to Andhra Pradesh ,Chhatisgarh, Telengana. It’s top Hilliy areas are with Surrounded by the Balimela Dam. The institute offer a 2 years Diploma course in Elementary Education for pre-service Candidates beside conducting a number of training programmes for in Service teacher under SSA and CSS (TE). The institute is Supported by SCERT, OSEPA, DPO, BEOs and well qualified teaching manpower and Supporting Staffs.
